Privacy, in plain words
Riffle runs on your PC. It never sends file names, file contents, folder names or search terms anywhere.
Downloads: when you download Riffle from this site we count one download per day for the link you came from (for example "producthunt"). To avoid counting a reload twice we keep a one-way hash of your IP address until the next day; the IP itself is never stored. The installer's file name carries that link name, and Riffle keeps it on your PC.
Update check: once a day Riffle asks this server whether a newer version exists. That request carries a random install ID (made on your PC, not linked to you), the app version, whether you use Free, Trial or Pro, and, once after installing, the link name you downloaded from. The country is looked up from your IP address at that moment; the IP itself is never stored. We keep the date an install was first and last seen, and one row per install per day to count active installs, deleted after 13 months. Turn update checks off in Riffle's settings and it sends nothing at all.
Pro licence: activating sends your licence key, a random device ID with a label like "Windows PC" and the random install ID, so a key works on up to 3 PCs and we can tell which download link led to a sale. After activation Riffle works offline.
Buying Pro: we store your name, email, the payment method and the transaction reference to send and recover your key. A payment screenshot, if you send one, is deleted within 180 days. UPI payments through Bliink Pay (our own gateway) are matched to your order by amount and reference. Nothing is sold or shared.
